Where are you located?

I am currently working full-time at CurlCousin in the Fashion Valley neighborhood in San Diego CA.

What are your hours?

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can only schedule your appointment online at https://linktr.ee/curlcousin. Reservations for your appointment are held with a credit/debit card via booking site. You must fill out a color consultation form before booking any color services.

Do you cut the hair dry or wet?

I prefer to cut curly hair dry.

I just booked my appointment. Is shampoo and blowdry included?

Yes!

Will my curly haircut look good straighten?

Curly haircuts don’t typically translate to straightened styles so please take you natural shrinkage into consideration.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you notify me 48 hours in advance to change or cancel appointments without penalty. Without 48 hour notice, I will charge a fee of 50% of the price of the cancelled service, and 100% of the service in the event of a “no-show.” Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

Do you work with children? Do you discount pricings?

At this time I work with adults 18 and over. However, children’s hair appointments are available case by case. (must be a direct referral from my existing clientele and 15yrs+).

I do not offer discounts for children services.

Also, I would like to acknowledge any child showing signs of discomfort during their appointment will be asked to reschedule. I firmly believe in respecting their boundaries to reduce any in salon trauma. Thank you for understanding.

Do you allow extra guest in the salon?

Nope, only if they are scheduled for services. If not, I ask that you leave space for other clients to lounge in our very small waiting area. For those who book a curly cut&lesson and decides to bring an extra guest will be asked to reschedule or be charged a look&learn fee of $150.

How should I arrive? Do I wash my hair before my Cut or Color appointment? 

Yes! Please make sure your hair is 100% dry & fully detangled. Read this blog post here for more details.

I’m trying to book but it says you’re booked for the rest of the year. Is that accurate?

I don’t allow people to book more than 8-10 weeks in advance. If the day&time slot you’re looking for isn’t available please circle back the following week.

Do you offer chemical services to make your client’s hair curly or straight?

I am a natural hair/curl focused hairstylist, I do not perform any chemical texture processes (relaxers, perms, keratin treatments, etc). Thank you in advance for understanding.

What is the best way to get ahold of you?

I’m a “one man band” so getting in direct contact with me can be a bit touch and go. I always recommend sending a detailed email and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
